We are makin the rounds today! We stopped in at Cookie Beek's after the picnic and I was SUCH a good girl! Lots of smiles and cooing.

Great Grandma got the nickname Cookie Beek from my cousins - her last name is VanBeek and she is the BEST cookie maker ever, hence the name - Cookie Beek! Can't wait until I'm big enough to eat her cookies!

Sleeping beauty?

Knock on wood - Makenna has now slept through the night 4 nights in a row!!  She hit 6 1/2 hours a few nights in a row and last night slept over 8 hours straight!!  I think the shots helped knock her out. 

Poor thing - didn't know what hit her at the doctors office yesterday.  I've never heard her scream so loud!  It brought tears to my eyes.  Luckily she zonked out a few minutes later and slept it off. 

Here's to another good night's sleep tonight!

Little does she know the shots are coming soon! In for our 2 month checkup today - already up to 11 lbs 4.5 oz! Looks like mommy's doing a good job nursing me!!

So my girlfriend (and fellow valedictorian;)) Brook got Makenna this onesie. She found it back in March 2007 and couldn't pass it up. She saved the receipt just to show me that she'd been saving it for me for over 3 years. Too cute! Thanks, Brook!! Love it!

Itz Been

So this little timer tells us how long its been since baby K has eaten or fallen asleep - it comes in handy, especially this morning when I have something to take a picture of to show SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!! That's right - she ate around 9:30 and fell asleep a little after 10 and slept until almost 5am!! Good little girl!! She had a really good day yesterday, too. Hardly fussy at all and not much crying - is this the start of a new phase for her? I sure hope so, but I'm pretty sure I just jinxed it;). We had a busy day yesterday with LOTS of fresh air - I'll post some pics from our block party and time with Deirdre next.

Enjoying my first walk by the lakefront with mommy

Someone can pinch me anytime now - I love coming down by the lake and hanging out at Alterra and reading, roller blading, walking or running. I always dreamed of being able to push around my jogging stroller and bring my little one with me some day. Today I'm actually finally doing it!!!!! I love this little girl. She is such an answer to so many years of praying and waiting. Thank you God!!!

And of course, now that its time to head to the sitter's house, baby K is out cold. If only she'd have slept this good last night. In protest, she wouldn't go to bed and then was up from 3 until 5:30. I guess she knew I was leaving for work today and just wanted to spend a little extra time with her mama;). Thankfully, I'm able to go back part time and will only be working Monday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's. Let's hope Tuesday night we get a little more sleep! Ok, off to work;(

Fireworks!

Last year we found the perfect park to watch the lakefront "Big Bang" fireworks from - its just a few miles south of the city and the view is awesome. Last year we watched them with my sis, bro in law and their 3 kids. This year we started a new family tradition and took baby K. Its funny to think that last year at this time, she was frozen and still in Texas - amazing what a year can do!

Kenna slept through the whole thing and the park is far enough away that we couldn't hear any of the loud booms to wake her. We got in the car 10 minutes before the grand finale to be able to catch it from atop the hoan bridge - what a beautiful sight of the city and the fireworks!! This picture isn't very clear - but its a really great view from this spot. Happy 4th everyone!!

Introducing.... the triplets!!!!

Yesterday I had the honor of meeting 2 of the 3 triplets!!  I went to visit Rachel and Clint and they let me hold Miss Adelyn while we waited for Clinton to make his way up from the NICU to the special care nursery to join his sister.  I was hoping to meet Ellie, too but had to go before she made her way up to the nursery.  What a blessing that they are all doing so well!!  Please continue to pray that they all continue to thrive and that they are able to come home to mommy and daddy real soon!!  I love you Addy, Ellie and Quincy!!
