Highlight of my day....

I emailed our Texas Fan Club yesterday to let them know we were having a boy.  They sent me back a very sweet email with updates on the boys (they have 2 of them) and ended it with this sweet note:

"Thank you so much for letting us know that we made the best decision to have you both love those two little angels.

The Texas Fan Club!"

It's a BOY!

We had our big ultrasound/anatomy scan today and I'm happy to report that  everything looks great!  My blood clot is gone (woot woot!) and baby is healthy!  A special shout out to Great Auntie Sharon for watching Makenna during our ultrasound!

As soon as she started doing the ultrasound, she moved the wand around a little and found this:)  It was as if he was letting us know right away he was all good in there.

Last day of school....

What we've been up to.....

Life has been a bit crazy around here lately....

 

It seems that once tax season is over, we find ourselves in a different sort of busyness - trying to catch up on house projects and everything else that got put on the back burner during tax season.  Throw a vacation in there and well, we've been busy!  Here's a "dump" of our month so far.....

On May 17th we celebrated our 10 year anniversary!  Daddy surprised me with this pretty little present....a BEAUTIFUL ring! 

It was Grandparent's day at school earlier in the month and Makenna was blessed to have all 4 of her grandparents there.

 

Today we hit the zoo with our friends Bella & Blake - I love her hand gestures here - I wonder what she is telling Bella?

And the conversation continues....

 

It was SUCH a beautiful day!

For Mother's day, we surprised Grandma at her work with some pretty tulips

Watching for the train to come....  notice the cute little butt and the BIG GIRL underpants she is in!!  Whoot Whoot!  We are FINALLY potty trained!!!  After we got back from Disney, we put all her pull ups and diapers in baby's closet and haven't looked back since.  She has done GREAT!  We only wear diapers and night and nap and most times those are dry, too!  Yay!

 

 

I was lucky enough to get not just one but TWO snuggly naps rocking this little sweetie to sleep this month... I can't remember the last time I got to hold her while she slept.

Disney - Part 2

Day 2 we headed to Hollywood Studios.  We discovered that Makenna LOVES watching the live shows so I knew she'd have a blast at the shows we had planned to see. 

 

First, it was off to the Disney Junior show...

 

I showed this to her on You.Tube a few times before we came and she was SO excited to see it in person!

 

She loved it!

Love, love, love these ones:)  What a blessing to be able to make these memories together! 

 

 

After the Disney Jr show it was off to meet Jake!  She grabbed a few gold de bluns from the Disney show when they fell from the sky and was all excite to show them to Jake.

We had lunch reservations and Hollywood & Vine where she was able to meet some of the Disney Jr. characters.

She doesn't really watch Handy Manny and she totally gave him the cold shoulder....ha!

She was pretty excited to see Jake again, though!

So very excited!

 

After lunch we headed over to the Beauty and the Beast show - Makenna LOVED it!  It is set in an amphitheater and they perform a 1/2 hour show for you.  She sat in awe at the entire thing and couldn't wait until the end to see Belle in her "Yellow dress".

Unfortunately by about 3pm the rains moved in.....we're not talking sprinkles or even Florida mid day showers but DOWNPOURS - sadly that meant the end to our day....We wanted to head back for the fireworks but we were too wet and the rain didn't let up. 

 

Of course, the rain decided to come at the worst possible time - we had just headed in to see the Muppets 3D show and were running late for it so Brad quickly ditched the stroller (which of course had my poncho, jacket and Makenna's jacket in it) and ran into the show.  He didn't have time to put it under shelter or put the poncho over it in case of rain.  Oops.  Bad time for that to happen - we walked out of Muppets 3D to about 1/2 hour of downpouring rain.  By the time we could get to our stroller everything was SOAKED!  Luckily I had a plastic bag that I made into a little poncho for  Makenna and she had this innertube with us that she thought was pretty fun to wear in the rain.  We told everyone it was so she didn't float away:) 

 

 

She didn't seem to mind the rain one bit!

 

And of course, you can't leave Disney without a pricey souvenir.  Makenna picked out this sweet little Boo doll from Monster's Inc.  It was the first movie we watched with her so I thought it was sweet that she picked it (not that she remembered watching it).  She kept calling her my "boo friend" and carried her around everywhere we went the rest of the trip.

Disney - part 1

 

 

Someone was VERY excited to head on her first plane ride!

Wednesday morning, off to the Disney castle!!

So very excited!!

 

I don't have any pics of her on the bus, but it was so very sweet holding her and listening to her as we got closer and closer to the Magic Kingdom.  She got a glimpse of the top of the castle from a distance and she started going crazy with excitement - it was sooo sweet:)  I actually teared up sitting there realizing how very blessed I was to be holding onto my own precious little girl after waiting years for moments just like these.  Love it!

She was clearly beyond excited....

 

Although I must admit when we walked through the gates and the big castle was finally right in front of her I started rolling film to get her reaction and she just sat there and looked at it.  I'd ask her - what do you see? and she'd look at me and say "what?".  Ha!

 

Unfortunately once we got in she was just overwhelmed and wanted to go home for the first 1/2 hour or so..

"I wanna go home daddy"

Poor thing...

 

Then we spotted some princesses and she started to warm up - "take my picture with the princesses, mommy!"

 

We headed over to the Celebrate the Magic show and then she really started having fun

She wasn't very excited about the rides at first but by the end of the night she was asking to go on the "clam ride"

She REALLY got excited when she got to hug Aurora

and Rapunzel

and Merida (Meridanda as she likes to call her)

My favorite were the excited shoulder shrugs when she met just about everyone..

 

 

Her absolute FAVORITE was the parade - I'm going to try to post a video, but I'm not sure it will work...

 

 

Unfortunately when we headed back at night for the fireworks it was raining a little harder, but we still had fun

 

 

And the nice part was the crowds really died down so we were able to make it into Story time with Belle!  She LOVED it!

 

We did have a little snafu on the way in - she has been doing great with potty training this week but I wasn't ready to put her in underpants on vacation so I left her in pull ups.  On the way into Belle Daddy was carrying her and her pull up leaked all over Daddy's shirt.  She thought it was soo funny and kept telling us "I'm gonna tell Belle I peed on my daddy!".  Thankfully I had a change of clothes for everyone so we were able to make it into the show dry.

And as long as it was 10pm and we had already closed down the park, daddy gave in and sugared her up with some cotton candy on the bus ride home.
