18 months....

My little bubbers.....how can it be - already a year and a half?!?!

You are such a big boy!  This month has been a lot of fun with you - you are starting to talk like crazy and some of your favorite things to say include...

-Daddy!!

Tax season is ALMOST done and you can't wait to get your daddy back.  Lately we've been spending a lot of "virtual" time with him either on the phone or over Skype and whenever you see my phone sitting out or see the laptop, you point to it and say "daddy, daddy, daddy!" over and over again. While I'm dialing you get the cutest look on your face and you are so very excited to see him.  I know it is really hard on him this time of year, too, and you sure do put a big smile on his face when he hears you calling for him.

Here we are skyping him at lunch on Sunday (don't mind my messy house)

There were a few times this month when he made it home just as I was putting you to bed.  You and I were rocking in your chair both times and as soon as you heard the garage door open you looked up at me and said "daddy?!" in the sweetest little voice.

Just in time!

Puppy!
You have finally started calling dogs Puppies instead of just "Nala" all the time, though you are still obsessed with her as well.

"Choo Choo"
You can hear the train whistle from our house and anytime you hear it, you get excited and yell chooo chooo!

"Garbage Truck-E"
You are OBSESSED with the garbage truck and Monday morning were beyond excited to see both the garbage truck & recycling truck make their way through the neighborhood.  You think every truck is a garbage truck-E and you say this all day long.

"Momm-EE"
You went through a brief spurt this month where you called me "momm-EE" just like Makenna used to.  It was the sweetest.

Animal noises...
You are starting to get the hang of your animal noises.  You know roar for lion, moo for cow and oo oo ah ah (thanks Oma) for monkey's.  You oof for a puppy and on a good day I can get you to gobble for a turkey.

You have your 18 month checkup on Friday, but I'm pretty sure you are still kind of a shrimp.  You are wearing mostly 18 month clothes, though you do still fit in some 12 month things and I even squeezed you in a 9 month onesie the other day.

You are still nursing..... in the morning and before you go to bed.  I'm getting close to being done but I'm not so sure you are.  I'm waiting for the end of tax season and a return to "normalcy" before trying any weaning though.  Tax season is rough on you kids, too, and I don't want to make it any tougher.  I do confess that there was a day last week when I was so busy getting you kids ready for the sitter and school and getting me ready that I totally forgot to nurse you in the morning.  You were a little extra clingy at the sitter when I dropped you off but I chalked it up to your separation anxiety you've been going through.  I got to the office and it hit me.  I forgot to nurse you.  I felt HORRIBLE!  You survived just fine, but I had a bad case of mama guilt all day!  Sorry Bubbies!!

You still take 2 good naps.  When you are tired, you are TIRED and go to bed great.  You grab your nuk and your blankie and say "nigh nigh bubbies"

Your night time sleep has been so so this month.  You've been wetting through diapers which has been waking you up but other than that you've slept pretty well.

You continue to get the world's best bed head!

Ha ha!

Man, you are a cute kid.

You got your first ride in Daddy's car and LOVED it!

"Sissy"
You still call Makenna sissy all the time and you two really have a lot of fun together.
You play together pretty nicely most of the time and she just adores you.

Man, you are one cute kid.

Love this picture of you and your daddy.....

You and daddy did some serious bonding over the Badgers NCAA Final Four run this year...

Here you are the next morning watching game highlights with daddy

And this game was on past your bedtime.  I sat down in your rocking chair to put you to bed and kept calling for you but you never came..... this is why.

Boys!

Sadly the run ended one game too soon and they lost the championship....

You continue to get into all sorts of mischief.... yes that is the dryer lint holder you are playing with..

I turn away for just a minute and you decide the hamper makes for a great trampoline.

And tunnel

And chair...

And necklace..

I'm sure it is only a matter of time before I find you in here.

You love these little bunny ears and you bring them to me so I can put them on your head and you squint because you know it feels funny when I put them on.  Then you smile so big when I put them on you.  You are in love with your sissy's beads lately, too.

Man, you are a cute kid.

You experienced your first jelly bean this Easter and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I found this shirt and thought it was perfect for you:P  Because, no, you can not rest.  Ever.  You are go, go, go, go, go.  Which I didn't notice so much over the winter because we don't get out much but now that it is warmer and we have been getting out more, I realize just how go, go, go you really are.  You are so curious and so ALL boy.  I love it, though I do get quite a workout in trying to keep up with you sometimes.

You are becoming such a big boy.... you climb right up on sissy's step stool

I'm so not ready for this....

You LOVE your morning smoothie and it is really the only way I get veggies in you lately.  You are a bit of a picky eater so I usually just stick to what I know you will eat and then sneak the rest in your morning smoothie.  You love meat and will eat just about any fruit.  Lately, you call everything that remotely resembles a "cookie" cookie.

You and your sister are still hooked on Paw Patrol and you LOVE to sing the theme song now - it's pretty stinkin cute.

You officially figured out how to climb into the tub this week.  Oh, and you managed to climb, wait DIVE out of the tub as well but we didn't get a picture of that.

Here you and sissy are laughing about it once I made you get back into the tub.

Stinker.

We took lots of trips to Daddy's office this month and you LOVED it there.

We got to the point where we would turn into the office park and you would start saying "daddy, daddy!"

One more day, Bubbies and you get your daddy back from tax season!!

You love walks in your little blue car!  It's gotten nicer in the mornings again so you've gotten rides to the bus stop in your car too.  You love it.

Yes, yes you are!

Love you Bubbies!  Happy 18 month birthday!!

Yes, we did celebrate with some mini muffins and a candle!

4 and...

This one will tell you she is 4 and three quarters with a big quarter at the end!

Ha ha. Where does she get this stuff?  Goof.
