Saturday fun
Off to Uncle Derek's Hawaiian themed birthday party. Don't I look silly in this hat?
3 month update....
So I'm working on a memory book of Makenna's first 3 months to send to her "Texas Fan Club" - I'm having a blast doing it, reminiscing on the past 3 months of this little girl's life.

Labor day weekend
Labor day weekend we had a wedding up in Green Bay so we decided to make a weekend of it and planned to spend Saturday night at my parents house in Little Chute. Unfortunately, we failed to double check the date on the wedding and when we showed up at the church on Saturday afternoon (a 2 1/2 hour drive from Milwaukee), we were the only ones there - well, us and our good friends Paul & Sarah. Oops! Turns out the wedding was on Sunday - so we grabbed a nice lunch with Paul & Sarah and then spent the night hanging out with my family before returning to the church once again on Sunday. Pretty sure we'll never make that mistake again. Ha!!

One year ago.....
We found out the news we had been waiting SOOOO long to hear - YOU ARE PREGNANT!!!!! I'll never forget the phone call and the tears that streamed down my face as I let it sink in. It was a beautiful sunny day, much like today and Brad and I were pacing all morning waiting for the phone call. I had knots in my stomach, awaiting the news. We finally got in the car and headed down by the lake and as we were passing Miller Park, my phone rang and the butterflies in my stomach fluttered like crazy. My favorite nurse, Theresa, asked me - "well, do you feel pregnant? Because YOU ARE!!" I am tearing up now as I type this, remembering that feeling all over again. I remember in those weeks of waiting to find out if we were pregnant, reciting the words of Ephesians 3:20 - Now to Him, who is able to do IMMEASURABLY more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us... He sure has done immeasurably more than we could have ever imagined in blessings us with this little girl. She is just so perfect, so beautiful, so precious and so OURS! Gosh, I love her. Thank you, God for doing immeasurably more in our lives!

Happy Grandparents Day to the bestest grandparents EVER!!
Just a little shout out in preparation for Grandparents day tomorrow-
And who can forget the GREAT grandparents -
Grandma & Grandpa Best - thank you for watching me so mommy and daddy can have date night and for coming over this week when I pooped so much that mommy had to give me a bath and Bugsey ate grapes while mommy was giving me a bath so mommy had to quick make Bugsey puke up the grapes so he didn't get sick:) I love you both! And thank you for taking care of my brother Bugsey and making him feel extra special, too!
And Grandma and Papa Janssen, thank you for coming down to play with me every other Wednesday so mommy can go to work. I know the 2 hour drive each way probably isn't fun, but hopefully I make it well worth it! Mommy and daddy really appreciate all the help around the house and the hot meal waiting for them when they get home from work! I love the squirrel-man voices papa makes and when you sing to me Grandma. Thanks for always willing to help out whenever mommy and daddy need you! And thanks for playing with Bugsey and scratching him - he loves you, too!!

Happy 3 month birthday baby girl!
After 42 shots taken, here are my 4 faves. Gosh, she's cute!!
And of course, some cute pics of my 2 loves:
So, what's my little 3 month old up to these days:
-LOTS of smiles!
-Starting to attempt a giggle, but not quite there yet
-Blows bubbles
-Loving tummy time, playing under her activity gym (thanks Rachel for borrowing yours to us), walks, sitting on my lap and looking out the window, Brewer games with mommy and daddy, shopping with mommy....
-ROCKSTAR sleeper!!
She usually goes down a little after 8pm and wakes up smiling around 6 or 6:30!
-Starting to bat at things and grab on to things
-Loves Chit chatting with Annika (my sitter's 4 year old)
-Loves being outside
-An ANGRY ANGRY screamer when she's hungry or tired:)
-Spits up ALOT!!
-Melts our hearts every single day:)
Oh, and she's over 15 pounds already! Looks like mommy is doing a nice job nursing:)
