Yup, this happy little guy is 3 months already - can you believe it?!?
Isn't he getting so long?
I must say he has the SWEETEST smiles!
Though I must admit, he still looks like this more often than I'd like to admit...
Note to self....take the monthly picture AFTER the morning feeding...
And be sure to enlist the help of this sweetie...
He ADORES his big sister.
I wish I could say the same for her, but she is still pretty oblivious to him most of the time.
Which brings me to this month's updates.....
You are definitely starting to fill in, buddy. Your thighs are getting quite a bit of chunk to them and those cheeks are certainly pinching cheeks. I tried weighing you today on our scale and I'm guessing you are a about 14 pounds.
You are in size 2 diapers and still fit in most of your 3 month clothes length wise but the arms are short on all of the long sleeve outfits so I've started putting you in a lot of your 6 month clothes, too.
You poop all.the.time. I'm not sure if it is a boy thing, but I really don't think Makenna pooped this much. Sunday we spent the day out and about and so I loaded up with wipes and diapers and after 3 HUGE poops I actually ran out of wipes. I would have thought you would have slowed since then but Monday and today you pooped just as much. You are all boy! And yes, I know you will appreciate me writing about that someday...
You are getting very chatty and your absolute favorite thing this month is people's attention. Your whole face lights up when someone talks to you - you especially like mommy but you will smile for just about anyone. You are getting quite chatty, too, which is so much fun.
You still enjoy the blinds at our house, but you discovered ceiling fans while we were at Oma & Papa's over Christmas and you were mesmerized. You are getting pretty good at batting at your playmat toys. Your favorite place to be is laying on your changing table moving your arms & legs like crazy while you coo away and watch your shadow on the blinds.
Sleep is going.... well, not so good. We moved you into your crib this past week.
We discovered that you actually do love to be swaddled and will sleep in your crib if you are swaddled up tight. The problem is that you wake up and can't fall back asleep on your own so you SCREAM until we come in and either put your paci back in or pick you up and rock you back to sleep (or feed you). So while you were getting up just once a night and going right back to sleep, you now get up a few times a night and aren't always the easiest to get back down to sleep. We're contemplating getting that swing back out tonight.....
You aren't a very good napper either, buddy. You will nap great if Mama is holding you all day but naps in your crib are usually just cat naps... every now and then you will give us a good couple hour nap but they just aren't predictable at this point. Hopefully by next month we can get you used to more of a regular schedule. For now, I'll try not to spoil you too much!
You are quite the spitter upper, too - not quite as bad as your sister was but you seem to be getting worse. Mommy is going to see if changing her diet helps at all, but thankfully you are a happy puker.
I've recently started putting you in your bumbo seat and more upright in your bouncy-like seat and you LOVE to be at eye level with everyone - I think you are so thrilled to be a big boy!
Ok, time for this month's outtakes...
sad face..
oops, sorry buddy!
Is that an attempt at the Heisman pose again?
Happy 3 months sweet boy!
Makenna: You LOVE your sister - anytime you hear her voice your whole face lights up. It is sooo very sweet. Unfortunately, she is a very busy girl and will rarely come over and talk to you. Don't take it personally, buddy- she loves you, she is just a very busy girl. I'm sure once you get more interactive she will teach you all sorts of fun things. The nice thing is that she doesn't seem to mind it when you are screaming your lungs out. I would have thought that it would have upset her, but it is almost as if she doesn't even notice your cries. Thankfully, she is very good at entertaining herself when mommy needs to attend to you and doesn't seem to be getting too jealous. She still calls you Alex or brother most of the time.

Mommy: Little boy, your mama can hardly even believe just how much she loves you. You are just the cutest, sweetest little thing and even when you scream and scream and scream and keep me up all hours of the night I love you to pieces and wouldn't change a thing. You are my sweet boy and I absolutely adore you. I still call you my blue eyed boy, Alexander Brooks or buddy most of the time.
Daddy: Daddy is so very in love with you. He likes to hang out with you and watch his Badgers - while the football team didn't do so well in the bowl game this year, his basketball team is doing great and I know he looks forward to being able to snuggle a sleepy Alex and watch the games late at night. He's getting more and more smiles and coos out of you, too. He is such a good helper and is quick to take care of your sister and her needs getting ready for bed at night when mommy is working on getting you calmed down and in bed.
You have the best smiles ever...
This one is my all time favorite!!
Happy 3 months Alexander Brooks!
