Happy Birthday Uncle Derek!

Saturday morning we brought Uncle Derek some doughnuts and Starbucks to celebrate the big 3-2!

I absolutely LOVE this picture and the look on both their faces!!  Uncle Derek is soooo very in love with you, Makenna and is SUCH a good uncle!  You are so blessed to have him live so close by and you ADORE him!!

Because sometimes you gotta let the princess be a princess..

Some days you just gotta let them wear what they want.... and relish in every minute of it:) 

This morning it was the princess tutu! 

 

Princess tutu + sprinkle donut munchkins = one HAPPY little girl!!

 

 

I'm definitely trying to enjoy every last minute with my "only child" these last 2 weeks!!  I do love that her tutu had a "disco ball" effect in the sun at DD. 

 

Then since the paint store is right next door, she BEGGED to go in and look at the princes wall paper books.  For you princess, anything!

 

 

She was all business in her tutu at the grocery store!

Brother snuggles

My first official haircut!

As much as I dreaded it, I knew it was time to get her hair cut when it got to the point that it was about to reach her butt....

 

 

So we took her to Kid-Dos and did it...

 

 

She did pretty good - wasn't the greatest at sitting still, but we managed to get a nice cut for her

 

Her hair was getting REALLY long and straggly at the ends so I had them cut off 5 inches. 

 

Beautiful!  She even got a new flower clippie

 

Getting her to pose for an "after" shot wasn't happening.... Here's the best I could get.  She looks so grown up!

Little Chute visit

I thought I had already posted the pics from this one, but apparently I didn't.....

 

Last week Makenna and I made a little trip up to Little Chute to visit with my family.  Oma came down with a rare case of vertigo a few weeks ago so she and Papa haven't been able to make the trip down to see us and we were starting to miss them!  It was SOOO nice to see everyone one last time before brother comes....

 

We got to see Cookie Beek!!

 

We got to see Oma!!!

 

We even had lunch with Auntie Amy and Makenna got to spend the afternoon with her while mama got some shopping done.

 

 

We had dinner with the cousins and a whole lot of fun!!

 

 

And on the way home, we even stopped for ice cream cones!!

 

 

What a goooood day!!

Awana Cubbies

Our new friends Katelyn & Kameron invited us to join Awana Cubbies this year.  I'm sooo glad they did because Makenna LOVES it and I think it will be such a great way to make sure we are regularly reading God's Word with her and teaching her all sorts of new things! 

 

 

Her class is every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8pm at a local church

 

Daddy has stepped up to be her official homework helper.  Love to see these 2 reading the bible together and practicing memory verses! 

 

She's impressed me and already has her last 2 week's verses memorized:

 

1 John 4: 10:  God loves us, He sent his son!

 

Romans 3: 23:  All have sinned

 

This week's verse is also from Romans so every time I try to teach her it, she shouts out Romans 3: 23 - look like we have a little work to do this week! 

 

 

She's even earned her first patch already for memorizing her first verse and the Cubbies Motto:  Jesus Loves Me!

3 year pics!

We had Makenna's 3 year pics a few weeks ago, along with a few preggo pics.  As usual, Ben & Corie did a GREAT job!  I tried just picking my faves to post, but it ended up being quite a few.  I'll post a link to all the pics on the side bar again, too!
