Back to school time!

Yesterday we had open house at Makenna's school!  This year she will be a ladybg and she is VERY excited!!  When we got to her room she actually asked if we would be leaving soon - ha ha! 

 

She has a really big class this year with lots of new kids.  One of the little girls was really crying last night and Makenna kept asking why she was crying.  I told her that she was probably scared to start school without knowing anyone and asked Makenna if she wanted to make her feel better so Makenna went up to her and asked her if she would be her friend.  I love this sweet little girl!

Before bed I was praying with her and telling her that Jesus loved her and that Jesus gives us gifts just like he gave me and her daddy her.... her response - and you know what else Jesus gives us mama?  Lunchables!!  ha ha!  What a silly girl!

Cousin fun!

Ahhh - look who finally decided to take an afternoon nap!!  She knew cousin Madison was coming and I told her she needed to rest up.  It worked!!

It is HOT here so we headed to the splash pad in Hartland again.  The girls had a great time.

You know you've read a book a few times when Madison is working so hard to sound out each word and read the book and Makenna has it memorized and keeps helping her with the words she is struggling with by shouting them out.  Smarty pants!  It was pretty funny to listen to....

Weekend Fun!

Saturday Daddy and Makenna had a special day together while Mommy headed up north for a bridal shower.  Daddy took her to her first movie theatre movie - "Monsters Inc University - ty" as Makenna called it.  They had a great time complete with a big bowl of popcorn.

Miss "I don't need a nap" was up to her old tricks again on Friday.  We picked Daddy up from work at 4pm after me struggling with her all afternoon refusing to nap.  By 4:30 this is what she looked like in the backseat as we arrived downtown.  Sassy girl!  I ended up driving around while Daddy got his haircut so she could sleep and then we headed to a dinner place where we could park on the street and eat on the sidewalk right next to our car so we wouldn't have to wake her.  Thankfully she woke up a little while later and wasn't too cranky at all.  In fact, she thought it was pretty cool that she could play in the car while we waited for our food.

The littlest snowflake.... is getting bigger!

 

At my 32 week ultrasound today, he measured in at 4lbs 4oz!!  He didn't cooperate very well in getting good pictures, but if you look hard enough at this one, you can see his little face.  Looking forward to meeting you in just a few short months, baby boy!!

State fair time!

Last Friday Daddy took a the day off and we headed to the State Fair!  We had beautiful weather and managed to leave just as it started getting really busy.

Mmm, nothing says State Fair like some mini donuts for breakfast.  Yum!

As a side - she wanted to go down the BIG slide but a certain Daddy was the scared one that chickened out - ha!  Too bad mama was pregnant or I would have totally taken her down it.

 

He did, however, make it up to her by playing on the wiggle cars with her!  She loved it!  Might have to add this one to her Christmas list.

 

Mmm, good old state fair lunch - corn dog & applesauce.

 

Mama, of course, went with the Krispy Kreme cheeseburger.  I ate it too fast to get a picture;)  Ha!  I will say that it tastes even better while pregnant.  I was tempted to get a second, but went with the fried cheese instead.  Tasty!

We did let her go on one ride and she picked the dinosaurs.

We knew one of her teachers and her friends from school were going to the fair on Friday, too, but it is SO busy I didn't think we'd run into either of them.  Makenna, on the other hand, was convinced we could find them and spent most of our day whining  asking where they were. 

 

She was sooo very excited to run into her friend Eve right before we left!

 

 

PS - yes, the state fair is supposed to be about the animals but true to character when we went to see the animals she was too excited to find her friends to care about the animals at all.  Oh well! 

Petting Zoo with Annikana

Elizabeth had a g.roupon for a cute little petting zoo in East Troy and we made the trip there this morning with Annika. 

 

Makenna wasn't so sure about most of the animals....she definitely isn't an animal lover, but once we got out the brushes, she had a good time grooming this little pony.

She probably had the most fun racing little plastic ducks down this piping.

I was impressed when she was brave enough to get in and milk this cow, though!  I think having Annikana there to show her how and do it with her helped.

She went on her first pony ride, too!  I think it is safe to say we won't be buying her a pony anytime soon - she wasn't too impressed by it and asked that the lady let her down after only one lap...

She thought the goats all tickled her fingers when she fed them

She didn't really want much to do with the baby kittens once they were on her lap.  She loved the idea of holding one until we put it in her lap and then she was done after just a second.  Ha!

 

We had a great time hanging out with our friends today!!  We love you guys!!
