Big big sister

I've had to erase all the videos from my blog because if was freezing up the blog, so hopefully the problem is fixed and you can all see this.

Makenna has discovered the computer again and the wonderful coloring pages you can print from it.  For whatever reason, when she wants me to print her out a coloring page she tells me she wants to go "chop some paper."

She loves sitting on daddy's lap and playing the match game on Veggietales.com - listen closely to the beginning of the video when she is telling daddy she wants to go to "veggie tales dot com" - it makes me laugh every time.

Every time I ask her what she is going to be - she says a "big big sister" - there is never just one big, always 2:)

Tomorrow we go in for our 7 week ultrasound.  I've been down & out all day with a nasty bug so I'm hoping tonight goes better than last night & I don't have to cancel my appointment in the morning!

Time to go lay back in bed....

Good news on the thyroid front..

I found out yesterday that when I went in for my HCG draw last week, the lab accidentally went ahead and tested my TSH levels.  There was an order in the system for 2 weeks from now, but they didn't realize the date on it.  So, good news is the thyroid meds are working and my level is already down to a 2.41:)  The doc wants to see it below a 2.5 in the first trimester!  Yay!  What a nice surprise!!

Friday we go in for our final ultrasound with at our RE's office.  I am very much looking forward to seeing the littlest snowflake again!

New friend and a flashback

I had an awesome lunch a few weeks ago with a sweet gal who lives in Greendale and had found my blog and contacted me to see if she could get more information about the RESOLVE group I had posted about.  As we sat down to lunch and started talking it was if we had known each other forever.  There is just something about sharing in each others pain that really draws us close to each other.  I knew just what she was feeling and I was touched that she had reached out to me and was so thankful that my blog led her to this other group of amazing ladies that would be able to walk along side her, too.

Well, that same gal happened to do IVF last week and is in the painstaking 2ww (2 week wait for you fertiles:))  Please keep her in your prayers - that the 2 little babies the transferred would implant and grow, grow, grow and that she would enjoy each day of this pregnancy - PUPO, right?!

Today she reached out to the group that she was looking for some encouragement.  I emailed her some thoughts and decided to forward her on some of the notes from our infertilty bible studies from back in 2009 when Rachel and I led a group of ladies.

I stumbled across this little gem I wrote and read to the ladies at our introductory meeting.  It's my "story" of God working in me and through me and how He brought me closer to Him.  Keep in mind that when I wrote this, it was April, 2009 - I had miscarried in March, 2009 and we had not yet gotten matched with our Texas Fan Club's embryos.

Enjoy!

I started going to church when I was a little kid, so I’ve always known who Jesus was – but its in the past 7 years that I’ve really gotten to know Him.  Growing up, I think I always had this works-based faith - - that God wanted me to do all the right things, be a good person, go to church and if I did XY & Z, He would let me into the pearly gates when I died.  So that’s what I did – I went to church, prayed when I needed something and tried to be a better person than the gal next to me. In the back of my mind, I always felt like I was missing something – but I was never really sure what.  I just knew that whenever times were tough, I’d go to church and I’d get really choked up and I’d feel so alone.  I couldn’t really explain it, but I kept going to church to try to figure out why I felt this way & what I might be missing.

It was shortly after I met my husband that this whole idea of works-based faith was challenged and I began to really seek God.  In my mind & my idea of God, everything was in my control – if I worked hard, if I went to church, if I was a good person, He would love me.  As I started to read the bible and learn more about who Jesus really was, I began to see that this whole gospel thing wasn’t about me at all.  If I could do it all on my own just by being a good person, why did Jesus have to die on the cross?  Why would He endure the suffering of such a painful death?  I see now that what I had been missing in my faith was the idea of grace. Grace is the free unmerited love & favor of God.  Its FREE – there is nothing we need to do but believe in Him.  Accept His death on the cross as punishment for our sin.  There are no amounts of good works I can do to earn His love.  He loves me no matter what.  What He wanted from me was a relationship – He didn’t want me to be good to please Him.  He didn’t want me to come to church in empty worship out of obligation.  He didn’t want me to pray to Him only when I needed something.  He wanted me.  He wanted a relationship with me.  He wanted me to come to Him everyday – to read His Word and get to know Him intimately.  He wanted all of Me.

Now, this new faith in God was all fine and good and pretty easy until my first real test of my faith came – Infertility.  While in my mind I had accepted that yes, Jesus died on the cross for me and I believed and accepted this gift of       grace and claimed to have surrendered my life to Him, I wanted a baby more than anything.  I got mad at God when it wasn’t happening.  Then I felt bad for being mad and I reverted back to my works based faith.  I thought that maybe if I just prayed a whole bunch and joined a bunch of bible study groups and volunteered at church, God would be happy with me and give us a baby.  He didn’t.  I got mad again.  Everyone else around me got pregnant.  My sister, who was done having kids, got pregnant “accidentally” when her youngest was only 6 months old.  I was mad.  I was jealous.  And then I felt guilty for being mad and jealous – it was my turn.  I’d start comparing myself to everyone else who conceived so easily.  I’d try to convince God that I was a better person, that I deserved a baby.  I think after awhile, I even stopped praying for one.  I gave up on God.  But thankfully, He never gave up on me.  I came across this poem by Russell Kelfer that I think sums up pretty well what brought me back to God and out of the darkest pit I had ever been in….

Wait
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate . . .
And the Master so gently said, "Wait."
"Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your Word.
"My future and all to which I relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
"You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply."
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied again, "Wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting for what?"
He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine . . .
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.
"I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint.
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.
"You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence are all you can see.
"You'd never experience the fullness of love
When the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
"The glow of my comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.
"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
But, oh, the loss, if you missed what I'm doing in you.
"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still . . . Wait."
I took solace in this poem – that God was working in me and through me in this – and that He was faithful and wouldn’t ever leave me alone in this struggle.  So of course, now that I had this all figured out, in the back of my mind, I think I still thought he would give me a baby as a reward for all my hard work – Ok, I get it, Lord – it’s taken 3 years & now I’ve really gotten to know you and so now we can get pregnant, right?  You’ve done what you needed to do in me.  Wrong.  That’s when I got my diagnosis – I had a 1-2% chance of ever getting pregnant.  Ouch.  Luckily the things I had learned in my journey thus far had helped prepare me to get through the hardest news I would (hopefully) ever have to handle.  I’ll be honest – I was still angry with God, I still didn’t understand why, but for the first time, I began to really trust in Him- to trust that He was in control, that He could bring good out of any situation.  I began to understand what living your life for Him really meant.  And this time, in my anger, rather than running from Him and hiding from Him, I ran to Him, and I yelled at Him.  I got down on my knees and cried out to Him.  I sobbed for hours and really truly felt like He was there to comfort me, letting me know that as long as I belonged to Him, he would never forsake me.  That He will always satisfy me, no matter what my circumstances are.

This past March, my faith was once again tested as we went through our frozen embryo transfer with the 3 beautiful embryos He brought into our lives from a family in Montana through embryo adoption.  The two embryos that survived the thaw looked amazing and the transfer went off without a hitch.  For the first time in a while, I actually let down my guard and got really excited – I really thought this was going to be it.  My prayers would be answered.  The night before our frozen embryo transfer, I was surrounded by 18 close friends and family members that came over to our house to bathe us in prayer and ask God for His blessings.  As we sat around in that circle and presented our requests to God, I saw Him working in our lives – I looked around and saw all these people that He had brought into our lives, all the support He had provided and I thanked God for all He had been doing in us and through us during this journey.

I’m not going to lie to you, when we received news that I was miscarrying shortly after the embryo transfer, I was shocked. I thought for sure God would answer our prayers.  I didn’t understand why He would let this happen.  I had so many questions and not enough answers.  Even now, I can’t say I am healed and I don’t struggle with this.  The one thing I can say is that my faith that has gotten me through this – somehow I know that He hasn’t left me, that He still loves me and He will get me through this.

The one promise God makes to us over and over in the bible is that He will not forsake us – He will never leave us.  As I look back at the last almost 4 years of infertility, I look at all the people He’s brought into my life – through the church we helped start in downtown Milwaukee 3 years ago, through RESOLVE – so many people that have been so supportive – I feel like He is showing Himself to me through these people.

The first person I turned to when I found out I had miscarried was Rachel – we had met through RESOLVE just a few short months ago, but I truly felt like God had brought her into my life to show Himself to me – to comfort me in my times of trouble.  In 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7, Paul writes “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.  For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.”  I truly feel like in these past few months, Rachel has been that comfort to me – she has shared in my sufferings just as all of you have.

My goal for this bible study is that each of you would know the love of Christ.   There is so much to learn about Him in the bible – so much He wants to share with us & my hope is that in this bible study each of us gets to know Him and the promises He makes. My goal is that we would find comfort amongst each other, that our sufferings would not be wasted, but that they would be used by God in each of our lives to draw us closer to Him and to work in each others lives.  My goal is that you would be so sure that the end of the story, whether we end up with kids someday or not, is heaven and that you will have a hope each day because of that.  I’ve heard Joy defined as the quiet confident assurance of God’s love.  Most days, I can honestly say I am at peace resting in Him and His plans for us, even if they are not the path I would have chosen.  Choosing to follow Him doesn’t mean there are no problems in life, or that you’ll never be mad at God, but what it means is that you know he is there for you, that He is in control & that as bad as life can be, that you’ll spend eternity in paradise with Him.  So while He does not guarantee us a baby, He doesn’t promise that if we come to Him, he’ll speed up our wait, I hope that each of you can find joy and you can experience the peace of knowing God loves you & He is in control.    I pray that God is working in each of your lives – that He is using this crappy situation to bring you closer to Him  - that you, too, would be comforted by Him & know the Joy of resting in Him.

My first trip to the dentist

Today I took Makenna with me to the dentist, hoping she'd be brave enough to at least sit in the chair & check things out.
The cool shades they had waiting for her definitely helped with the cool factor

Hmmm, here she is having second thoughts..

She ended up chickening out the first time, so I had my cleaning and then she was all excited to get back in the chair

Her exact words "are you gonna get all the fruit snacks out of my teeth?"
Ha!

She was even brave enough to let Miss Trish try out some of the instruments - here she is with a little mirror in her mouth

She was all excited to pick the cherry polish to polish her teeth with.  She just did the front teeth, but Makenna did great - she wasn't scared at all.  She kept licking the cherry off and saying "Mmmm"

She thought the spit sucker was pretty cool, too

After she was done she kept saying "That didn't hurt at all!"

Look, I even got a sticker and this cool purple toothbrush!

Bedtime routine...

Now that tax season is in full swing, I'm finding I cherish our time together as a family that much more... I just want to bottle up nights like this and save them forever.

Makenna's new favorite routine at night includes:

1) hiding from daddy - she'll run upstairs with me and hide under the blankets in her chair all snuggled up.  She'll keep yelling to daddy "you'll never find us daddy!" and squealing as she hears his footsteps get louder and louder.  Daddy will creep in and tickle her and she will laugh the sweetest, loudest giggle.  I think it might be my favorite noise in the whole world.

2) Blasting the "Bare Necessities" as we get out our instruments and sing & play music to the beat.  She knows some of the words, but the best is when she tries to sing "Its just the Bare Nec-es-i-ties" - it is such a big word and she is so sweet saying it.

3)  Goldilocks - this week she discovered the story of Goldilocks and has been obsessed with it.  She tried reading it to me tonight.  She actually did pretty good remembering a lot of the story on her own.

4) Pray on our knees like Gigi - one of her favorite DVD's she likes to rent is Gigi - Gods Little Princess.  Gigi likes to pray on her knees before bed so every night for the last, gosh, probably months now Makenna will tell us when it is time to pray that she has to "pray on my knees like Gigi".

5)  Lullaby time - Mommy usually gets this honor and it might be my favorite part of the night.  I sing Hush Little Baby (one of her books I've been reading to her since she was born) and Nigh Nigh Kenna, Baby, Mommy & Daddy.  I love looking at her sweet face as she starts getting sleepy - she looks up at me with the sweetest sleepiest smile.  Everytime I stand up to put her to bed, she begs for one more song and of course, I typically oblige:)

6)  I love you!!!  - on  a good night, she'll let me put her down without a fuss and as I close her door to tell her goodnight & I love you, she'll keep yelling "I love you, Mama!" over and over again until I say it back, then she'll repeat it all over again.

I love you, kennagirl!  Sweet Dreams!

My little bully...

I was debating posting this on the blog.... but, I want to remember the sweet times with the more trying times, too.

Yes, it seems my sweet, caring, loving, silly Kenna girl is a bit of well, a bully...

Not only did we get this lovely note from her teacher on Thursday, but it was accompanied with a mid-afternoon phone call letting me know that after this incident, there were 2 more that day.  Oh boy.  Never a phone call you like to get from your 2 1/2 year old's teacher.

I was actually a bit surprised to hear from her teacher - we have had nothing but very nice notes lately about how polite she is and how sweet she has been to her friends:
"Today, Makenna was very nice and asked her classmate "will you be my friend?""
"Makenna was very good about using her manners - lots of pleases and thank you's today"
"Makenna did not want to go on the potty but she did say "thank you for changing my diaper" when I was through changing her today."

Well, it appears we have regressed a bit.  Daddy was kind enough to help me with pick up on Thursday so we could have a little "sit down" with her.  I seriously wish I could have gotten the conversation on tape because looking back it was pretty funny.  She sat so nicely, knowing she was in trouble and just kept saying "ok, daddy".  She knew right away why we were sitting down with her and confessed to it all right away.  Daddy told her no trip to the library (I don't think I've ever wrote about her obsession with the library, but yes, we honestly go there 4 times a week - after church on Sunday, after bible study on Tuesday, on Thursday after school and usually one trip to the Sussex library, too - the girl is obsessed with DVD's and will get the same Veggie Tales ones over and over, many times not even watching them before we have to take them back.  She does love to watch them, but most times she is content just lining them all up on the living room floor and telling us who is on all of them.).  So, no library was kind of a big deal.  She just replied with an "ok".  Then daddy told her that she was not allowed to buy anything at the Disney store (we were heading there on Friday night so she could pick out a princess dollie).  I told her that instead of buying a princess dollie, it might be a good idea to buy her friend a box of band aids to make her feel better after the car incident.  Her response - "ok, mommy."  I was actually surprised there weren't any tears or anything.  She was very calm and listened very well.  Every time daddy would ask her why she did it she would just say "Hmmmmm."  I wanted to laugh, but did a good job keeping a straight face.

Saturday we headed to the Disney store.  I packed up her quarters and she was all set to buy some band aids for her friend.  She actually did really good.  The Disney store doesn't actually sell band aids so I brought some along and slipped them to the cashier when we walked in.  We let Makenna look around and she of course grabbed every princess dollie she could find.  When I told her it was time to put them all back because she didn't have any money for them she did it without even a peep.  "Ok, mommy"  So I asked her what we needed to buy with her money and she said "princess band aids for Sophia!"  So we went up to the cashier, she handed her the money and said - "do you have any band aids?".

One bag with my friend's birthday presents and one bag with my bandaids!

Sunday night we made cards for her friends to aplogize to them for hitting them
And I was hoping that would make for a bully-free day on Monday.

We got to school and she was all excited to give her friend the band aids & the cards.

I'd love to say that this plan worked and she was an absolute angel in school today but... c'mon the girl is headed toward 3 and starting to act more and more like it everyday:)

On the bright side, there was only one victim today:)

Poor thing was so wiped out after school today she totally dozed off on the ride home - which she NEVER does!

Daddy had another little sit down with her again tonight.  Here's to hopin' for a NICE note in her folder on Thursday!!!

Birthday Fun!

Sunday Makenna and I had a little girl's get away up north for a little birthday fun!  She was such a good girl all day.  I waited until the morning to tell her we were going to see her cousins and she was SO excited.  She kept telling me - "mommy, I'm gonna be so silly with my cousins!"  We got up to my sister's house just in time for a little rough housing, giggling and playing before heading to our party.

Look who surprised us in the parking lot!  Makenna was SO excited to see her Papa!!

Party time!
The party was at an indoor jungle gym place and she had a BLAST!  She loved hanging out with all the 5 and 6 year olds and I had so much fun just watching her run around and play

"I'm jumping mommy, I'm jumping!"

Happy Birthday Paige & Emily!!

Waiting so very patiently for a piece of birthday cake

Fork, who needs a fork?
She DEVOURED that thing in less than 2 minutes..
"Helping" my friends open their presents

The sign of a GOOD birthday party!

Happy Birthday, girls!  Thanks for inviting us to your party!!

Feeling especially blessed.....

Today I'm feeling especially blessed.  As I watch the huge snowflakes fall out my window, I am in awe of God's blessings in our life today & always.

I am blessed to be able to stay home a few days a week with this little sweetie:

I am blesssed to be able to spend cuddle time, learning about the latest characters on Sophia the First so that later on when Makenna tells daddy all about it, I can let him know what in the heck she is talking about:)

I am blessed that during said cuddle time, I got the BEST surprise ever to find my driveway being shoveled & snowplowed, courtesy of not just a client, but a sweet friend and prayer warrior to us.  Thank you Sue!  You have blessed us in more ways than you realize.

I am blessed to get random texts throughout each and every day from my dear friend Rachel, letting me know that she is covering me in prayer and sharing with me what God is teaching her, too.

I am blessed to have a husband that works his tail off - slaving crazy hours this time of year so that he can provide for our family.  He is an awesome daddy, husband, businessman and friend.  Thank you, daddy, for always dropping everything when you know we need you - for doctors appointments, trips to school to have a sit down with your bullying, sweet girl (that is another blog post altogether) and special dinner dates with us at your office on nights when you are swamped with work but want to make sure your baby girl knows how much you love her.

I am blessed to have such sweet friends - that even if it has been months since we've talked, we can pick up the pieces like we haven't missed a beat and have the best conversations (great talking to you last night, Deirdre!)

I am blessed to be carrying the littlest snowflake, whose heart is now beating and facial features are starting to form.  At just 6 weeks, you are such a miracle and such a joy to our family.  I look forward to keeping you warm and safe the next 8 months, sweet baby.  And I look forward to teaching you about all the ways that we were blessed because of you.

Thank you, Lord!

Thought this was worth reposting....

Periodically I send Makenna's "Texas Fan Club" photo books & updates.   I wrote this little poem & included it in her first book I made for them:

God created me, a tiny little seed

You gave me the gift of life and recognized my need

The need to find that family that was praying for me so,

You shared me with them and they helped me to grow.

From a tiny little snowflake, no one would have guessed

into beautiful baby Makenna, the gift of happiness

Needed to start working on one for the littlest snowflake, too...

God created me, a tiny little seed.

You gave me the gift of life and recognized my need

The need to find that family that was praying for me so,

You shared me with them and they helped me to grow.

From the littlest snowflake, frozen 6 years all alone

into a precious little baby who finally made it home.

Roller coaster...

I almost forgot what a roller coaster this infertility thing is....

Monday, we came to a crashing low after a serious bleeding/clotting episode.  I thought for sure that was it - it was over.  I was trying to be so positive and really trust in God, but I really was caught off guard and let my mind think the worst.  Brad kept telling me not to worry, to wait until we could talk to a nurse.  I knew he was right, but I couldn't help but worry.  I wasn't ready for this.  I was just finally starting to let down my guard a little and actually believe I was carrying another little miracle life inside me.

I actually didn't even call anyone that night - not my mom, not my sister, noone.  I didn't want to talk about it, thinking that would make it more real.  I didn't want to hear the worry in my own voice.  I texted a few close friends to fill them in and ask them for prayer and that is exactly what they did - they covered me in prayer.  And it was exactly what I needed.

Fast forward to Tuesday morning and a somewhat worrisome call from the nurse - it was a good news/bad news kind of a call.  Bleeding can be ok, but clots can be bad.  The fact that I wasn't cramping was good but we decided to check out my hcg and go from there.  This wouldn't really be able to tell me anything but bad news - if it was not continuing to double, we had issues.  If it was continuing to double, that was a good sign, but still wouldn't tell us for sure.

Thankfully I got the call from my nurse by 11am on Tuesday that my numbers did continue to double and were 5834 (they should have been 3200 the day before and 6400 the next day).  Phew - that was at least a good sign.  She could sense the worry in my voice and agreed to let me come in for an early ultrasound the next day.

That night I was just skimming through random verses in the gospel of John and came across John 14: 1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled.  you believe in God; believe also in me."  I clung to that verse and honestly, I slept like a rock that night.  I woke up "feeling" pregnant and was actually looking forward to my ultrasound that morning.  A part of me knew that everything was going to be fine.

We showed up at the doctor and were surprised to find our favorite nurse working.  She came into the ultrasound room with us and explained to us what they were looking for - that there could be nothing in my uterus and that would obviously mean one of those clots was the baby:(  Scary!  She said that we wouldn't likely see a heartbeat since I was only 5 weeks / 4 days.

The doctor came in and still I really felt this peace.  We took a look and instantly saw the littlest snowflake:)  She made me hold my breath so they could get a good view and there it was - the little flicker of a heartbeat.

I must say that while infertility robs you of a lot of joy- we have been very fortunate to be able to experience this little life at such early stages.  Most women never get to see a picture of their baby at 5 days or 5 weeks - most need to wait until the 10 week ultrasound.  We are feeling very blessed that we have been able to "meet" this little one already on several occasions.  Needless to say, we are back at the top of the roller coaster ride hoping that the ride evens out for awhile.

I actually really needed to see that little heartbeat to confirm that yes, our prayers are being answered, and yes, this IS real.  While I am working at trusting God, I think there is a part of me that feels like this was all too easy.  Last time around there was WAY more heartache - it took us 4 years before God brought Makenna to us.  I think I really just expected that this would be harder - that it would take more work.  Not that it has been easy, there were certainly set backs with the cyst that wouldn't go away, the surgery, the endo, etc.  But all of those setbacks were answers to prayers - that God would make sure my body was 100% ready for a baby before we went ahead and transferred our last little hope.  Maybe that is why God keeps banging me over the head with the Trust in God - no, this journey to baby number 2 won't be as hard as the first one, but Trust in me, my child, and use the things I taught you the first time around to really just enjoy this blessing!

Thank you, God, for sparing us more heartache and blessing us with this little bonus baby!

Disney on Ice

I convinced Daddy that he needed a special valentines date with his girls and suggested Disney on Ice.  We thought Makenna would like it and boy.... she LOVED it!  I just loved seeing the joy in her eyes tonight as she got to watch all her Disney faves.  She was so grateful and kept saying - "Thank you mommy and daddy for taking me to see the Disney castle and all the Disney princesses."  Thank you, Kenna-girl for making more special memories with us.  We love you to pieces!

"I'm so excited!  I'm so excited!"

The first half was mostly all princesses.  There were a lot of "wow's!" and "look, mommy!" and "look, daddy!".  My favorite was "look mommy there is Nemo just like I see on my TV!"  Precious.

Soooo very excited!
Here she is saying "Cinderellaaaaaa!"
Daddy kisses

Mulan!

She REALLY wanted one of the princess dollies they were selling but they were atrociously priced.  Here I am trying to tell her if she smiles nice for the camera we can go look at them..... What a stinker!  She refuses to smile for any pictures.  And no, we didn't buy the overpriced dollies.  We told her we could go to the Disney store later this week and pick out some presents for her friend's birthday party and she can pick out a little prize then.
Waiting patiently for the second half to start.  Isn't she just the cutest?
And finally, the finale!!  Clapping away!

Thank you for a fun night, Kenna girl.  We love you and are so glad you had so much fun!

Cousin fun!

This weekend Makenna's cousins came down to visit.  I made the mistake of telling her on Monday they were coming and she has been crying for them to come all week.  It was so worth the wait though.  They showed up on Saturday afternoon just before she fell asleep for her nap so we all laughed as we listened to her talk to her imaginary friends before she drifted off to sleep.  When she woke up it was pure chaos in my house.  It was awesome:)  Makenna just kept squealing - "Mommy, I'm being so funny with my cousins!"  She loves them SO much!!
Celebrating Drew's birthday at "Brewer Game"

The wait was REALLY long at the Friday's inside Miller Park for dinner, but the kids did SO good!  We had so much fun with them this weekend!

We woke up this morning to more running around and silliness with the cousins.  We celebrated Drew's 10th birthday with a little morning coffee cake and candles.

Happy 10th birthday Drew-buddy!!

We love you!!!
