Helping mommy make muffins

Yes that is flour in my hair and all over my dress. My job was to stir but I decided I needed a taste. I couldn't get enough whole wheat flour and kept eating it by the spoonful saying Mmmmmmm.

Snow fun!

Our first snowman! Although Makenna kept decapitating him.......

She continues to be very impressed with the snow from the inside but doesn't like to play in it very long. She woke up saying snow snow snow! We headed out after nap when we saw the neighbor kids were out. First she was more excited about the princesses on her friends boots than the snow. Ha! Once I finally coaxed her in she did pretty good. She can't figure out how to walk in all the clothes and she kept falling. Poor thing. She did get pretty excited about making snowballs until the neighbor boy threw one in her face. Oops. Luckily spring is right around the corner, right?

Day of surprises

What a fun day of surprises we had today!!  It was cousin Drew's 9th birthday so mommy and Makenna headed up to Little Chute to surprise him at school and eat lunch with him.

First, we got to surprise Bryce and pick him up from school.

Yay!!!  Surprise #1 down, time for the Birthday Boy!!!

Drew was out at recess when we got there - here he is spotting Makenna for the first time.  I love them both smashed up against the glass:)

Hugs!

So excited to see each other!!

Oma videotaped the surprise so I'll try to post the video after this....

Next, on to Madison's classroom to surprise her!

She was VERY excited to see Makenna!

Makenna had so much fun playing in her kindergarten classroom

Love you girls!

And now, back to meet Drew for lunch!

Makenna loved seeing all the kids in the cafeteria and was having fun being silly kissing the cow...

and the chicken....

and the corn....

and the ducks!

Before we left, the kids were getting ready to go so the teachers got them all quiet.  As we were leaving, Makenna waved and said "bye!!!!" to the whole lunchroom and in unison about 100 kids waved and said BYE!!  to her.  It was SO funny!!

Happy Birthday Drew buddy!!!  We love you!!

Next, on to see Auntie Amy at work.....

Uncle Eric was meeting her for lunch so we got to see BOTH of them!!!

And finally, on to see Cookie Beek!

Phew.....what a day!!  We had SO much fun seeing everyone and surprising the kiddos!

Thanks Oma for hanging out with us all day!!

Muah!!

Happy Birthday Drew!!

Thanks Bryceman!

Cousin Bryce surprised Oma at her work with some balloons for Valentines' Day and Oma brought them to our house when she came last night.  Makenna was beside herself with excitement!!  She kept saying baooons baooons and then counting them... one, two.... six!   She kept running around the house carrying the whole bunch in one hand and her Elmo ballon in the other hand.

So VERY excited!!

What are these tasty treats???

Can you say STATIC?

Thank you Oma and Papa for coming to play with me today!!

Bye!!

20 months

Baby girl, you are no longer a"teen"... well, in months anyway.  You have changed SO much over the past month!  You are talking like CRAZY these days!  You repeat just about everything we say now.  You still make sure to get plenty of jibberish in there, but much of what you say we can actually understand.  You make us laugh when you try to say big words like blueberry and raspberry.  You know what you want and you are very proud of yourself when you can use a word to communicate that to us.  This week you started saying "Oma" for the first time and absolutely melted your Oma's heart with it.  This morning you woke up in your crib asking for "Oma!".  Our favorite thing ever is still to hear you say Momm-EE and Dadd-EE.  You repeat it over and over in your crib in the morning until we come and get you.  When we are all together you like to look at each of us and say Momm-EEE, Dadd-EE and smile the happiest little smile that you are together with us.  It is so very sweet.

You have started counting... you pick a new favorite number just about every day.  Last weekend it was nine and today you keep counting - one, two, SIX!!  You are starting to recognize more letters - your favorites are E, B, Y and I.  Y is the latest craze.  There is a Sesame Street video that sings all about Y and you just love it.  Last week you found a stick on the ground that looked like the letter Y and you just kept saying "Y" over and over again.

You are having LOTS of fun with Grandma and Grandpa now that tax season has officially started and mommy and daddy are working on Saturdays.  They love coming over to play with you and always tell me the funny things that you do with them.  You are so sweet with them and love to give them hugs and blow them kisses.  You haven't learned to say Grandma and Grandpa yet.... we might have to tell them to come up with some nicknames that are a little easier to say.  Thank you Grandma & Grandpa B for watching Makenna for us!!

You have started to throw some pretty serious temper tantrums.  They are mainly just for mommy - mostly when I pick you up from Miss Stacey's house after work or when I'm trying to get you in your car seat.  Most of the times you just want to cuddle up with mommy and cry, but every now and then you show us your total sassy side and will do naughty things and then look at us to see how we will react.  I'm hoping it is just you getting your molars and it will pass soon, but we'll have to wait and see.  Most times you are a sweet sweet little girl, though.

You have started to really enjoy "pretend play".  You like to "make" soup and serve us tea.  You also like to dress Elmo up in your coat.  This week Oma had soooo much fun putting your coat on Elmo and off Elmo and on Elmo and off Elmo.... over and over and over again:)

You LOVE music and have lots of fun dancing with daddy.  You also have started to really get into books again.  You and daddy read Goodnight Thumper and a few other stories every night before bed.  You love to point out the bunny and the duck.

Your favorite thing to say is still "More Dat" when you want more of something.  You will say it all day long....  Daddy started drawing Elmo for you and now once we draw him, you keep saying "more dat" to get us to draw him over and over again.

You have started saying AMEN when we pray at dinner time.  You never wait until we are done praying though - you just keep saying Amen over and over during our entire prayer.

You continue to be a VERY good eater:)  I think you must be getting ready to go through another growth spurt because lately you have been eating like a little piggy.  Tonight at dinner you just kept eating and eating and eating.

You had a nasty cold, sinus infection and earache earlier this month but you are feeling much better now and are finally done with 20 days of antibiotics.  Yuck!  I forgot how messy it was to clean up blowout diapers.  Ick!  After leaking out of 2 Target diapers in 2 days we started to put you back into Pampers.  You prefer the Pampers anyway because they have Sesame Street characters on them.  In fact, when you see a box of Pampers at the store, you yell ELMO because there is a teeny tiny Elmo on the box, but you can spot it from a mile away.  You are SO very in love with Elmo.

You have started saying all the characters names from Sesame Street - Elmo, Oscar, Big Bird (you call him Big), Cookie Monster (you call him Cook), Abby (you say Addy), Ernie (you say Enie) Bert and my favorite to hear you say - Zoe.

You are taking one good nap a day - usually from about 1:30 to 3:30ish.  You go to bed betwen 8 and 8:30 and will sit and chit chat in your crib most nights for a half hour or more.  You usually get up around 7ish.
Ok, on to the pictures!!

So happy with Mr. Monkey this month

Wow, you are really starting to tower over him!

Here you are counting your beads

Such a happy girl

You LOVE talking on the phone, especially to daddy.  When I get home from work, you will look at my phone and say Dadd-EEE call?  You get so excited when you see his picture pop up on my phone and you love to say Hi, Bye, blow kisses and tell him lots of jibberish

You love to brush your teeth

Here you are this morning after putting Elmo's coat on.

Happy 20 month birthday baby girl!!!  My heart is so very full tonight thinking about the journey we went through to get to this point.  Just tonight I was cleaning up after dinner and you and daddy were playing in the basement - you were laughing and squealing together and then you called for Mommm-EEE to come down too.  I am feeling very blessed to have such a sweet baby girl and to be able to see this whole new side of your Dadd-EE.  He is such an amazing Daddy and I love how absolutely in love with you he is.

Thank you Father God for knocking my socks off with answered prayers!  I am such a blessed mommy and wifey.  AMEN!!!
