Happy birthday sweet boy! How is it that you are already a whole hand full?! You, sweet boy, are such a "delight".
You are a kind, sweet, loving, compassionate, bouncy, energetic, early rising, funny, goofy, silly, aware, adorable little man. You make everyone around you smile with your silly antics and your overall love-ableness. You, sweet boy are a delight.
Your vocabulary is pretty funny. You continue to throw randomly, yet appropriate big words in sentences which always gives me a laugh. Just yesterday you were so excited to hang Halloween decorations for you knew how much it would "delight" Kenna.
And let's not forget all the silly things Daddy has you saying...... from "the very pants I was to return" to the "mayor of ding dong city", you know what will get a reaction from us and you love to embellish. My favorite is when we are all crabby and irritable and you whip out a one liner to lighten the mood. Oh sweet boy - you have such a gift for making people smile!
I love you so much, buddy boy. You truly do complete our family..... though you have started bringing up the idea of being a big brother and how much you would LOVE it a LOT lately. Sorry, bud. You're it!
You are killing it at school this year.
We decided to send you to Willow Springs and while it makes you sad you don't get to learn about Jesus every day, we try to make up for it with extra bible stories at night and morning devotionals with mama. You go to YCare 3 days a week after school, which leaves Wednesday afternoons and Friday afternoons with Mama. Oh, how I love our time together! I'm trying to make a concerted effort to really pour into you on those days and embrace this last year home with you - hopefully we can keep that up all school year!
You are still LOVING baseball and had a great first official season of Tball
You love playing baseball in our yard and I'm pretty sure that is going to be YOUR sport.
You also tried out soccer this year - it was a great energy burner. On the last game day your coach told you to always keep that energy and that positive attitude. I'm proud of how well you stuck with it, even when you didn't always have a clue what you were doing.
It certainly helped that you had Vince and Jakey on your team!
You did the Camp Zoom thing all summer and LOVED it!!! You were so excited to go everyday and it made for a sad mama when you loved it so much you didn't even want to take a break for mama days!! I love how much you loved it and how much you learned about Jesus. And let's not forget about your first crush!
As you can see, your writing has really taken off, too! You are constantly asking me how to spell things and then writing them out.
And yes, you are still pretty obsessed with your Grandpa!
You absolutely adore Kenna, too. The first thing you do every time you get off the bus is ask how long until Kenna's bus comes. You missed her like crazy when she was at Lion King Rehearsal's this month. I love the special bond the two of you share - and yes, you are still constantly fighting with each other, but it is so sweet to see the moments when you just can't get enough of each other. You two love playing legos, games, sports and just being silly together.
Here you are waiting for her bus to get home....
And let's not forget about your Brewers!! It was a great run this year and I had so much fun cheering them on with you when Daddy was at the games and Makenna was at Lion King. We went to lots of games earlier in the season and you absolutely loved it!!
The MOOOOOSE
You are still my early riser.... you are up when the clock is still in the fives most days, but will stay in your room until 6:30 on weekdays and 7 on weekends at which time you declare it is your "mama" time and come find me. I do love our mama time each day - and I hope and pray that you are always this excited to start your day with your mama.
Bedtime is a breeze with you - because you don't nap anymore, you are SOOO tired by 7:30 and after a few books and a few bible stories, you fall asleep within seconds! I do love snuggling you each night and I'm glad daddy and I get to trade off that duty every night.
I love you sweet boy! Happy 5th birthday!
