Fireworks!

Last year we found the perfect park to watch the lakefront "Big Bang" fireworks from - its just a few miles south of the city and the view is awesome. Last year we watched them with my sis, bro in law and their 3 kids. This year we started a new family tradition and took baby K. Its funny to think that last year at this time, she was frozen and still in Texas - amazing what a year can do!

Kenna slept through the whole thing and the park is far enough away that we couldn't hear any of the loud booms to wake her. We got in the car 10 minutes before the grand finale to be able to catch it from atop the hoan bridge - what a beautiful sight of the city and the fireworks!! This picture isn't very clear - but its a really great view from this spot. Happy 4th everyone!!

Introducing.... the triplets!!!!

Yesterday I had the honor of meeting 2 of the 3 triplets!!  I went to visit Rachel and Clint and they let me hold Miss Adelyn while we waited for Clinton to make his way up from the NICU to the special care nursery to join his sister.  I was hoping to meet Ellie, too but had to go before she made her way up to the nursery.  What a blessing that they are all doing so well!!  Please continue to pray that they all continue to thrive and that they are able to come home to mommy and daddy real soon!!  I love you Addy, Ellie and Quincy!!

Geandma Best and the grand"kids"

THE BABY FAIRY!!  The baby fairy paid us a visit on Saturday afternoon.  We had a hunch it might be the Beckers and sure enough!  I love yhat they dressed Avery up in little fairy wings.  Too cute.  They also took some baby pics for us - I can't wait to see them.  They did a great job.  Thanks Ben and Corie!!!

Kenna's first playdate!  Miss Lexi is a true miracle baby and it was great to be able to share much awaited pregnancies with her mama, Cheryl.  She was due the day after me, but Lexi decided to come a little early so she and Kenna are 11 days apart.

The triplets are coming! The triplets are coming!

Its only a matter of time before Rachel has the triplets! She was admitted on Tuesday with high blood pressure so she's on bed rest on the hospital and in good hands. They are monitoring her and the babies and are prepared to do an emergency c section whenever they deem it necessary. So far the babies all look really good. Rachel has done a great job cooking these little ones - she'll be 34 weeks tomorrow! Please pray for continued health for Rachel and these 3 little miracle babies - for a safe delivery and wisdom for the docs in when the "right" time is to go in and get the little ones out. We love you "Auntie" Rachel and "Uncle" Clint and can't wait to met the babies!!!!!

Yesterday, Kenna got to spend the day at my good friend (and sitter) Elizabeth's house while mommy was at the hospital. Almost 8 lbs

Kenna had her 2 week check up yesterday and got a clean bill of health. She's eating good and up to 7lb 15.5 oz. I think she would have been 8 lbs had she not peed all over the doctors office when we took her diaper off to weigh her:).

A special thanks goes out to all the help we've gotten over the last few weeks - Great Auntie Sharon and Grandpa Best have been wonderful at coming over so mama can take a nap or running errands for us. Our church has organized meals for us which has been WONDERFUL!! I'm not sure I've ever eaten this good - thanks everybody!! Grandma and Papa Janssen came down for a few days last week which was a BIG help. You're welcome back anytime, Mom and Dad!

Unfortunately mama's recovery is not going so well - I'll spare you all the details but wanted to ask you to keep us in your prayers as I continue to heal and for direction as to next steps in the healing process, be it surgery in a few weeks or just waiting to see if things heal on their own. Its been a frustrating couple of weeks from that standpoint, but Makenna's certainly worth it. I suppose that's why God makes babies so cute. I should have known there would be trouble when she came out THIS cute;).
