Uncle Derek's Wedding

Friday night Uncle Derek got married to our new Auntie Sarah!!  They had a small ceremony at the church and then will follow it up with a reception at a park in a few weeks.  The ceremony was beautiful and I'm SOO happy for them both.  They make such a sweet couple and their wedding ceremony was so beautifully done with Jesus at the center.  I pray that their marriage would be the same and that Jesus would always remain at the center of their lives.  We love you guys!!!

This little stud muffin had a blast at the wedding!  I wasn't sure how he would do given he has been going to bed at 6:30ish all week and the ceremony was at 6 but he was a rockstar.

Sarah has 2 sweet boys and I loved how they incorporated them into the ceremony.  Keagan was SOOO excited after it was all done to finally have a DAD!  It was the sweetest thing ever.....and I have no doubt that Derek will make an amazing Dad!

So Brad is NOT the type of guy to show affection in public - he's just not - I was taking a selfie of Alex and he snuck in and kissed me - might have just stole my heart all over again with this one:)

The first day of 4k...

Wednesday night was Jumpstart to 4k where the kiddos got to meet their teacher, drop off school supplies, get pictures taken and get ready for 4k before school started on Friday.

Time to head to the bus stop

So thankful to have Ben and Zach at the bus stop with us this year!  Although Makenna was pretty sad to find out they weren't in her school (they are both in 5k at Woodside)

Ben grabbed Makenna's hand to help her on the bus - so sweet!

I actually did pretty good, well ok anyway.  

We're free!!  Well, not really - daddy has to go to work and Alex is ready for a nap but that gives mama a whole HOUR of quiet time!!!

Uh oh, rough morning - I think he misses her!

11:28am - Time to head to the bus stop to pick up Sissy!!

I didn't realize that the bus drops her off on the OTHER side of the street.  The bus driver was pointing to the other corner to me when she drove past, but I had no idea she was going to drop off another kid and then come back and drop off Makenna - I thought she was just going to take her back to school for me to pick her up since I was on the wrong side of the street......cue the tears...again..

Thankfully a few minutes later, she swung back and dropped off Makenna, but she was already pretty upset that they drove right past us without stopping.  Poor kid - I had been telling her all week to make sure she watches out the window so she knows when to get off the bus.  Now we know, though - first she gets to wave to mommy when she drives by the first time - then she gets to get off.  

Overall - first day was a success!

And we got to meet up with daddy for lunch!

And then snuggle and read books all afternoon while Alex napped.

It's official - she's a 4k'er!!!
