First trip to starbucks!

Mama did A LOT of praying for me at this starbucks and teared up a bit when we walked inside together. Several hundred caramel macchiatos (sadly it probably really was;)) and mornings of praying to God about her desire for me and here I am!!! So worth the wait!!I am such a blessing and such a little miracle - God sure is good and faithful. 

We've graduated to the crib:)

So because Makenna has such bad reflux, we've been putting her in her swing to sleep. It keeps her more upright which keeps her from spitting up. In her crib she tends to get herself all wet and wake herself up. Poor thing! But we don't want her to get too used to the swing so we decided to try the crib again tonight - she fell asleep in there on her own and she looks pretty comfy all sprawled out. Here's to hoping she makes it through the night in there!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Wow,  2 months already!!  It sure has been a busy month - amazing how fast time flies.  This month I started sleeping through the night, well sort of.  I made it a whole week with sleeping at least 6-7 hours at a stretch.  Then of course last night, I made sure to wake mommy up at 1:19am to remind her it was my birthday:)  Silly girl.  I've started smiling LOTS more and cooing at mommy and daddy.  I'm starting to really get this talking thing down.  My favorite things to do are go for walks in my "chariot", warm baths and hanging out with mommy and daddy.  Thanks to everyone for checking this blog and following up on me!  I sure have a lot of fans:)  Love, Makenna

As if our Saturday wasn't busy enough, we managed to squeeze in yet another party.  It was so nice meeting everyone!!!

Daddy and Grandpa worked VERY hard this weekend putting a little patio block and landscaping next to our fence. It turned out GREAT! And Makenna really likes sitting on our glider bench out there with mama:)

We are makin the rounds today! We stopped in at Cookie Beek's after the picnic and I was SUCH a good girl! Lots of smiles and cooing.

Great Grandma got the nickname Cookie Beek from my cousins - her last name is VanBeek and she is the BEST cookie maker ever, hence the name - Cookie Beek! Can't wait until I'm big enough to eat her cookies!

Sleeping beauty?

Knock on wood - Makenna has now slept through the night 4 nights in a row!!  She hit 6 1/2 hours a few nights in a row and last night slept over 8 hours straight!!  I think the shots helped knock her out. 

Poor thing - didn't know what hit her at the doctors office yesterday.  I've never heard her scream so loud!  It brought tears to my eyes.  Luckily she zonked out a few minutes later and slept it off. 

Here's to another good night's sleep tonight!

Little does she know the shots are coming soon! In for our 2 month checkup today - already up to 11 lbs 4.5 oz! Looks like mommy's doing a good job nursing me!!

So my girlfriend (and fellow valedictorian;)) Brook got Makenna this onesie. She found it back in March 2007 and couldn't pass it up. She saved the receipt just to show me that she'd been saving it for me for over 3 years. Too cute! Thanks, Brook!! Love it!

Itz Been

So this little timer tells us how long its been since baby K has eaten or fallen asleep - it comes in handy, especially this morning when I have something to take a picture of to show SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!! That's right - she ate around 9:30 and fell asleep a little after 10 and slept until almost 5am!! Good little girl!! She had a really good day yesterday, too. Hardly fussy at all and not much crying - is this the start of a new phase for her? I sure hope so, but I'm pretty sure I just jinxed it;). We had a busy day yesterday with LOTS of fresh air - I'll post some pics from our block party and time with Deirdre next.
