Makenna is in LOVE with her daddy. She was a mommy's girl for a few months there, but ever since they started swimming lessons, she's back to getting SUPER excited whenever she sees daddy:)
Makenna is getting pretty fast at walking behind her choo choo and her stroller. She can push her stroller all the way around the house and navigate in and out of rooms by picking it up and turning it. She's still not so sure about walking, but has taken as many as 3 or 4 steps without realizing it.
Makenna continues to ADORE her Grandmas. When either of them walks into the room, its all over - she MUST go by Grandma immediately. It cracks me up. Here she is snuggling with Drew and Oma this morning watching Sesame Street.

Swimming lessons are going great - daddy loves the Makenna time and as you can see, Makenna has a blast
Her new favorite thing is to open and shut doors. Here she is playing peek with me behind her bedroom door.
This one has to be my favorite from this month. She is sitting here buck naked with her new shades and her current favorite object - the remote control. Every now and then she gets lucky and hits the right button and turns on the stereo. She thinks its the COOLEST thing ever.
So, what else is my little 14 monther up to?
-She continues to be quite the talker. Most of it still sounds like Chinese, but every now and then something will comes out clear as day. Yesterday, it was "oh boy". Last week it was "earring". Her favorite word continues to be HI. She's getting more and more belligerent with it - totally cracks me up. She's very into "ball" these days, too. Whenever we turn off the TV, she looks at it, crawls up to it and repeats the same thing over and over again. I have no idea what she is trying to say, but it is funny to watch her babble and grab the remote and give it to us to show us she wants it back on. Her new word of the month is "beep". She will repeat it whenever she hears a car beep or hears someone lock their car door. It can be off in the distance and she says "beep" - clearly her hearing is pretty good.
-She isn't quite walking, but I'm pretty sure its coming any day now. She will stand for a few seconds or longer when she is distracted.
-She continues to get TONS of attention everywhere we go. I think its a combination of her being absolutely adorable and having such a sweet personality.
-She's started fueling mommy's Starbucks habit:) She learned how to pay the cashier with my credit card - to which they all, of course, think is super adorable. I'll hand her my card and she will very nicely give it to the cashier, wait for her to swipe it and then put her hand out to get it back. Unfortunately, she then tries to give it to the next person in line. Ha! She is such a generous girl!
-Weight check - 27 pounds. At today's doctor's appointment the nurse informed us that her 3 year old also weighs that much. Chubbers:) In all honesty she actually is thinning out quite a bit. She's getting more and more toddler-like every day.
-She LOVES the computer. I actually can't even update this blog with her awake anymore because she will climb right on my lap and watch whatever I am doing.
-Daddy likes to sing with her every night so the two of them sit by the computer and watch music and Looney Tunes.
-She is a very very busy girl. She likes to take all her books out and CD's out from the shelf. She can't stand the idea of a doll or her monkey in her stroller, so if they are in there, she will take them right out. She will, however, put her milk or her remotes in there.
-She is down to just 2 nursings a day - once in the morning when she gets up and once before bed.
-She is eating just about everything. Her favorites are muffins, pizza, mac n' cheese, yogurt, blueberries and string cheese.
-She goes down to bed at 8pm and wakes up between 6:30 and 7:30. She still takes 2 naps - ususally for an hour or more each.
-She continues to be pretty healthy. This month she got a BAD diaper rash and was on her first doses of antibiotics.
-I lost track of how many teeth she has in her mouth. She doesn't let me get my fingers in there anymore - the last time I did, it felt really bumpy, like there were lots of teeth on their way.
-She learned how to play catch this month and is getting pretty good at rolling the ball back and forth to me.
-She LOVES to be the center of attention. I think that is why the "HI" is used so often - its usually when someone isn't paying attention to her:)
We love you, Kenna Girl! Your little personality is so funny and we are having so much fun watching you learn and grow!
