Oh, little lady, the big "2" is just around the corner! You are SO fun right now - as like every other stage we've been through, I just want to bottle this up so I never forget it. With daddy being so very very busy at work this time of year, we have had lots of sweet sweet moments just me and you. Once tax season is over, I 'm sure you will be a daddy's girl once again so for these few short months, I am making sure to enjoy my mommy's girl:) You love to put your arms around my neck so tight and say mommy, mommy, mommy over and over again when I see you after a long day's work or when you wake up from your nap. You are developing a bit of sassiness, but so far mommy has done a pretty good job at snapping you out of your "moods". Most times you just need a minute or two to scream and cry and then you are back to my sweet little girl. When you are naughty, I turn my back to you and sit on the floor and once you are done and realize you did something wrong, you come up behind me and I feel your chubby little arms wrap around my back as you say "sowwy mama". Its so very sweet and melts my heart.
Your poor daddy has been working some crazy hours this time of year, but you always make him feel extra special when you see him. It's usually in the morning before work - he will go in and get you and I hear you saying "hello dadd-ee" & "Good morning" and then the two of you pick out a hair pretty to get the hair out of your face and you make him hand you all the hair pretties you can find on your hair pretty holder. He told me the other night that when he got home from work after midnight he went in your room to kiss you goodnight and you stood up, gave him a hug and went right back to sleep. Whenever you hear my phone ring or hear it beep from a text message, you look at me and say "daddy?". Sometimes you will hand me the phone and say "call daddy?". You are very sweet on the phone with him, blowing him lots of kisses and telling him "love u!". When you do get mommy and daddy together - you are so funny. You look at us both and say mommy, daddy, mommy, daddy over and over again. I think all 3 of us will be VERY happy once April 17th is here!! Only a few more weeks!
You LOVE to tickle daddy. You say deet deet deet deet - its his favorite thing;)
You are talking like crazy and have mastered most of the alphabet and counting to 10. You will count just about everything you see and you like to point out letters when you see them on people's clothes or wherever. You finally started saying Grandma and Grandpa, although it sounds a bit like jibberish, we know what you are saying:) Your independence is really starting to show as your favorite phrase this week is I can do, I can do! Or Kenna do! Your favorite meal of the day is breakfast and you will eat and eat and eat and eat. You love oatmeal and would eat it everyday if you could.
With the warmer temperatures we've had the past few weeks, you've discovered just how fun neighbor kids can be. You are constantly looking outside asking "kids? kids?". When you see them playing, you want to go over to their house right away and play with them. You try to steal all of the neighbor's bubbles and when you know you are going somewhere you are not supposed to (like up the neighbor's driveway), you will turn it into a game to see if I still notice. You look at me and say "march, march" and then proceed to march right on back. You also learned to hop and skip. You absolutely love playing outside. We went to the park by our house a few times and you have absolutely no fear as you climb up on the jungle gym and go whipping down the slides.
This week you got your first "boo-boo". You were walking down the driveway pushing your car and you got to the small decline and your car kept going and you didn't let go so you fell on your knee and got a scrape. We put a princess band aid on it, but you just wanted to play with the "sticker". Now you have a little bit of a scrape and you keep pulling up your pants to show me your boo boo.
We figured out a new bedtime routine now that mommy puts you to bed every night. We read a few stories and then you make me sing you your "twinkle" book. We pray and then you cuddle with your "mi-mi's" oh so tight and go to sleep. Tonight as I was shutting your door, you said nigh nigh mama - such a sweet girl.
Oh, and we can't forget this month's monkey pics.... these are getting nearly impossible to take as you want nothing to do with sitting next to the Mr. Monkey...
First try, not so bad to get you to sit, but that's because you are blinded by the sun shining in the window....

You are very good at kissing Mr. Monkey - look at that pucker!
Ok, maybe I will sit nice if daddy promises to sit next to me too:)

Love you Kenna Girl!! Here you are with your Ooooo face. You do this every time you encounter something new - here you are watching previews for a new cartoon. "Ooooo - what's dis?"
One last story I need to get down before I forget it. Sunday we were in church and at the end they sang one last song so I quick grabbed you from the nursery so you could sit with us and sing the last song with us.
Once the music stopped they flashed HOLY WEEK on the big screen with the schedule of events and you kept yelling "Y" "that's a Y". Mind you we were at Elmbrook's 8am service in the balcony. For those of you not familiar with Elmbrook, it is a BIG church and I'm pretty sure most of the congregation heard her from up there:) ha!
