Catching up....
I've been a total slacker at getting pics off my camera and updating this blog..... here are some highlights from our month:
Trying out my new boots with our first "real" snowfall of the year back on January 12th - daddy's birthday!
Hmmm, I'm not so sure about this stuff...
She was having SO much fun getting pulled up and down the street in her sled until she tipped over in a snowbank and got a pretty good snow wash in the face..... That's when she decided she'd rather pull the sled:)
No I do not want to make a snow angel!!!! This is COLD!
And, she's done- headed back into the house..

She's much happier playing in the snow this time!
Our driveway was still covered in snow when we went outside and when I set her in the snow she didn't like that she was getting snow all over her new boots. Here she is wiping the snow off them:)

First snowfall of the year
You have to listen close to the beginning, but I love how she says snow. The night it snowed she kept repeating over and over on the drive home Snow? Snow? Snow!? It was so precious;)

19 months
Ok, so I've decided that I'm gonna keep counting in months until she's at least 2. I'm just not ready to give up the monthly monkey pictures. Although I must admit I totally forgot it was her 19 month birthday until about 5pm today. Oops! Have no fear, I still got some monkey pics in:)
Its a good thing I decided to keep updating each month because it seems like she's changed so much in this past month. Makenna has started talking more and more... she is starting to repeat much of what we say and starting to from sentences. Her current favorite thing to say is "more dat". It sounds a lot like her word for music so the first couple times she said it, I turned on the radio. Its always while she's eating so finally I figured out she wanted "more of that."
She also learned to crawl up on furniture this month. Lucky Oma - she did it for the first time when Oma was babysitting her. She crawled up on the couch and her eyes were as big as saucers when she had figured out what she had done. She then proceeded to run from side to side of the couch squealing. She's enjoying the new view.
I think I jinxed us last month when I said that Makenna made it a whole month without waking up in the middle of the night. This month she hasn't slept quite as well, though she only got up a handful of times and in all honesty, I didn't mind one bit because all she wanted to do was cuddle with me:) I secretly loved every minute of it. I realize she's gonna want to cuddle with me less and less as she gets older and for now, I'm gonnna embrace it, even at 2am. I will say that cuddle time tends to be some of my best prayer time. The other night I sat with her for 45 minutes and God just kept bringing more and more people and things to my mind for me to pray for as I sat there holding my sweet girl. It was an awesome time to be able to spend with God and the blessing He's given me:)
This month Makenna's obsession with watching Elmo (or at least asking to watch Elmo) has subsided a bit. I think it has to do with having more toys to play with and seeing her imagination grow. I'll admit she will still glue herself to the TV when its on, but for the most part she is content playing with her toys or being silly with Mommy and Daddy.
Makenna has really enjoyed having mommy and daddy around more these past few weeks with the holidays. She's such a sweetie and so happy when we're all together. She likes to look at each of us and say momm-EE, dadd-EE and then smile really big. Its so very sweet. While I think we're all dreading the onset of the upcoming tax season for mommy and daddy, I have no doubt that the time we will have together will be that much sweeter:) We love you baby girl!
Today, we had the "Baby Fairy" and her mommy and daddy over to watch the Rose Bowl. Makenna and Avery had soooo much fun playing together....

While we were sad to see the Badgers lose the Rose Bowl (again), watching and listening to these two sweeties run around and chase each other as they giggled and hugged was so much fun.
