Impromptu visit

I love last minute plans....yesterday at Alex's 3am feeding I hot the idea to head up to Little Chute for the day to see my family. I knew my sister had the day off, it was the last week of my friend Peggy's maternity leave and poor Cookie Beek has been cooped up all winter with these nasty cold temps and could use a visit. So I texted Amy at 3am to see if she had plans. By 8am we were bundled up and ready to go!

Uncle Eric...aka baby nazi...of course has to stop home at lunch to love on Alex;)

And then headed back over to the cousins for dinner

It was a long day that of course ended with an all out temper tantrum from a certain 3 year old that didn't want to leave but it was sooo worth it. I wish we lived closer so we could see everyone more often but I am very thankful that I can take these little day trips on my days off!! 

Super Alex

The other night in stripped Alex down to a diaper and kept chanting Super Alex as we chased Makenna around the house. She loved it and has been asking for Super Alwx ever since.  

He loves the way she shrieks when we get close to her. I think she's finally starting to like him. Lol. 

Ha ok. Maybe not....... He was all excited to get his picture taken with her though. Too cute!

Daddy's night at school

I let her pick out her own outfit this morning. She immediately grabbed a Brewer dress and said "daddy will be SO excited to see me in brewergame!" 

She was right!

Daddy treated her to pancakes after school and before they headed back for daddy's night. 

Fun times!!

He's pretty miserable tonight. Here's to hoping a good nights sleep makes us all feel better in the morning!

One year ago...

Little buddy, one year ago our lives changed forever.   A bunch of our closest friends and family came over to our house to pray for you as we prepared for the next morning's frozen embryo transfer.  

From my blog post January 30, 2013..... "Words can't even describe how very blessed we were tonight to have our family and friends gather and pray over us and over our precious snowflake baby. As we prayed tonight, I was reminded at what a blessing my infertility has turned out to be - that God has used it to bring me closer to Him, to bring us through the greatest heartache we could imagine in our first miscarriage and using it to not only bring us Makenna and this embryo, but to bring us this whole list of people that are standing by us and praying with us today. There are so many women in my life that, without this heartache, I would never have the privilege of meeting, supporting and being supported by. So thank you. God has blessed us so much. We hope and pray that He would continue to bless us with a successful transfer tomorrow.

As I went around and introduced who each person was and how we knew them it was really pretty cool to see who God had brought into our lives, some through our journey of infertility and others whom we've grown closer to because of this process.  I love that we share our faith with these people and that they are willing to go before the Almighty God on our behalf to boldly pray for this baby!  I am so very humbled and so very grateful!!"

You were still frozen and about to make the journey from a big old storage tank into mommy's tummy.  As each person sat in a circle and prayed for you, for the doctors, for mommy, for daddy, for your big sister, we had no idea that God would knock our socks off with such a sweet little boy.  

Here you are just moments before the doctor put you into your mama's tummy to grow.  You were one good looking little embryo - already busting out of your little shell hoping to find a place to call home for 9 months or so...

Hoping and praying that you will "stick"!

After your transfer, we went to Alterra and mommy got a dreamsicle shake...the barista wrote this on the side....and that is EXACTLY what I did that day!

Alex, you are an answer to our prayers!  Happy thaw-versary, baby boy!  We are so thankful that God froze you almost 7 years and saved you just for us.  We are so thankful that your Texas Fan Club chose life for you and your sister and decided to share you with us.  

We love you Alexander Brooks!!
