Happy 3 month birthday baby girl!

After 42 shots taken, here are my 4 faves.  Gosh, she's cute!!

So, what's my little 3 month old up to these days:

-LOTS of smiles!

-Starting to attempt a giggle, but not quite there yet

-Blows bubbles

-Loving tummy time, playing under her activity gym (thanks Rachel for borrowing yours to us), walks, sitting on my lap and looking out the window, Brewer games with mommy and daddy, shopping with mommy....

-ROCKSTAR sleeper!! 

She usually goes down a little after 8pm and wakes up smiling around 6 or 6:30!

-Starting to bat at things and grab on to things

-Loves Chit chatting with Annika (my sitter's 4 year old)

-Loves being outside

-An ANGRY ANGRY screamer when she's hungry or tired:)

-Spits up ALOT!!

-Melts our hearts every single day:) 

Oh, and she's over 15 pounds already!  Looks like mommy is doing a nice job nursing:)

Weekend Fun

Congratulations Jamie & Josh!!  What a beautiful wedding at the Villa Terrace and a perfect day for it!

This dress certainly got a lot tighter on Kenna since Uncle Jeffy and Auntie Kate's wedding!

Gosh, I love this little girl!  She's so sweet and so fun! 

Here's a video I shot today of her smiling and just about laughing.  She loves it when I blow in her hair - something about the noise I make and the feeling of wind in her hair that makes her smile - melts yhour heart!

My first Brewer game!!!

Go Brewers!  (top half of outfit)

(bottom half of outfit) - Oops!  Did this right after we got out of the car & started walking into the game - time to head back into the car and put on Brewer outfit #2.  Yes, I brought 3 outfits and used all 3!

Tried SO hard to stay awake on the walk in to the park - rubbing my eyes the whole way, but then just before we got to the gate, I zonked out for a little cat nap.

Mommy changed me before we left the game and I was out cold by the time we got to the car.  We didn't make the end of the game, but the Brewers won!  Yay!!

Story time!

Daddy reading me my favorite book after our nightly walk around the block in my baby bjorn.  Mommy's friend Kim from church got us this book at mommy's baby shower.  She made it herself and it might be the coolest present EVER.  It's called "Makenna's Colors" and here is how it goes:

Red is for fireworks, the ones mommy loves

Blue is for the Brewers, will daddy share his glove?

Green is for a palm tree on a beach far away

Yellow is for the sand on a beach with my name

Orange is for orangutan I see at the zoo

Black is for Bugsey - I know he will love me too

Purple is for tulips, my birthday soon iwll be

White is for pretty snowflakes, miracles like ME

Brown is for the cross on which Jesus died for me

Look at all the colors God made, which will I see?

I love this!!  Its so personalized and has cute drawings in it.  Anyone that knows us well knows we love the brewers & the monkey's at the zoo.  Tulips are my favorite flower.  And Makenna was named after Makena Beach in Hawaii!  Too sweet, Kim - we love it!!  Daddy reads it to her just about every night:) 

Zoo Time!

I might be the luckiest girl in the WORLD - my Grandpa works at the zoo!  He got us in for free and I got to go on the merry go round, hit the dinosaur exhibit and go to the sea lion show:)  And tomorrow, mommy and daddy are going to take me BACK to the zoo for Zoo Ala Carte!  I can't wait to show daddy the monkeys!

So its been 3 days since Makenna pooped - this is a long time or a little girl that usually unloads twice a day or more. So we returned to the Sam's Club parking lot where I fed her once again in the backseat and what do ya know? It worked!!

Backseat diaper change

Yes, that's me smiling after yet another EXPLOSIVE poop as mommy was feeding me in the backseat in the Sams Club parking lot. That is the 3rd time I did that this week and its always when she tries to feed me in the car:). Now I'm fed, unloaded, changed (diaper and outfit) and smiley as can be.

Texas Fan Club

Yesterday I emailed some pictures of our little miracle baby to the genetic family - aka her "Texas Fan Club" as they like to refer to themselves.  We have a semi-open relationship with them - whereby we know each others first names & cities and have pictures of each other, but we don't know last names or any more specifics than that.  We wanted to leave the door open down the road so that if Makenna ever wanted to meet her "Texas Fan Club" that was an option.  So we exchange emails and pictures at this point, keeping them updated on how we are doing and thanking them once again for sharing this gift of life with us. 

I am always encouraged by the emails and with each one, it seems God confirms that this plan of His was so right for both of our families.  We are so blessed to have this gift and getting today's email just made me squeeze her and love her even more. 

Today's email was especiallly sweet.  Apparently the family was in Chicago at a Cubs game and wouldn't you know it, they were playing the Brewers.  They are aware that we are huge Brewer fans and here is what she wrote:  

"As fate would have it we saw the Cubs loose to the Brewers. Fortunately not the 18 to 2 night, the next one. Luke sweetly said that it was okay because Makenna would be happy;)" 

Luke is 5 and that might be the cutest, sweetest thing a 5 year old has ever said.  How incredibly sweet!!!  I look forward to showing this one to Makenna someday:)  It certainly brought a tear (okay, I balled) when I read it. 

Embryo adoption is such a gift and we have been so blessed by it.  If you ever have any questions on it, please don't hesitate to ask us - we'd be more than happy to share with you:) 

10 hours to celebrate 10 weeks!!

That's right - Little Miss Makenna made it 10 hours last night!!  Mommy thought she was going to EXPLODE when she woke up without a feeding in 10 hours.  Actually I woke up after about 9 hours wondering if she was still alive.  She was out cold:)  After a few soakin' wet nights in the crib from spitup, we're back to the swing, but hey if she's sleeping and she's dry, I'm not gonna mess with it.  Like Auntie Amy said - its not like she's gonna still be sleeping in the swing when she's in middle school.  Ha!  Here's to another good night sleep for us all!

You should see my butt ruffles - sooo cute! Let's hope I stay sleeping so mommy and daddy can enjoy their lunch! We're out on the patio, just in case I get loud:)
