What a busy, but fun Halloween weekend we had!

Time for face painting!  Makenna's request:  Ariel, of course!  Luckily the girl painting her face was a sport and attempted to do her best mermaid:)

 

Hmmm, luckily there wasn't a mirror to show her and instead she just kept telling everyone her Ariel was "bootiful!"

 

Friday night we worked on our "trick or treat" skills

 

Getting ready (and very bundled up) for some Sussex trick or treating on Saturday night!

 

 

It was COOOLD!  But, we had a great time!

 

By the end, Makenna wanted to go all by herself up to the houses.  She was very good about saying "Trick or Treat!" in her sweet little voice and "thank you" when she got her candy.

It was really really cold but after every house Makenna kept saying "just one more house mom, just one more house"

Sunday was Milwaukee trick or treating to so we headed over to "Lizbeth & Anakana" (formerly Akana, now has developed into Anakana)'s house for lunch and then headed back to the old neighborhood to see all the neighbors

There is something about a little girl holding mommy or daddy's hand that just melts my heart...

Oh no, Makenna's favorites - Sam & Beth weren't home:(  Boo!!  We made sure to get a picure on their porch so we can mail it to them & let them know we tried!

Makenna was VERY excited to see our neighbor Austin!!  (Yes, that is our old house in the back - the front tree was cut down and it just looked so different). 

When we walked up to it and trick or treated, Makenna wasn't quite sure what to think.  Then she stopped on the sidewalk and just stared at it for a few seconds.  I leaned down and told her "that's Makenna's old house, right?"  Her expression was cute - it was like yeah, that's why it looked so familiar, now I remember.  She waved bye bye to the old house and was on to the next one.

Next, it was on to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little catnap and some quality time with Uncle Derek.  It was too cold to go outside with the Strawberry Shortcake costume on, so instead we just ran around their house in it. 

That wig cracks me up!

 

 

And finally, we celebrated Grandpa's 67th birthday with Grandma's famous homemade sauce for dinner and birthday pie!  Happy Birthday Grandpa!!  We love you!!!
